1Scan the card
Two guests sit down at table 5 and scan the card. No app, no account: the café opens in the browser.
2Order from the table
The menu opens with a photo of every dish. They add kheema pav and two chais and send it straight to the kitchen.
3The kitchen is cooking
One tap on the floor accepts the ticket. The kitchen screen shows it, with the note about onions, and marks it ready.
4Same table, same bill
A second phone at the table adds a rose falooda. It lands on the same bill as round two, with the name of whoever added it.
5Need something?
They call the waiter from the phone. The floor sees exactly which table, and how long ago.
6Pay at the table
They ask for the bill, add a tip for the team if they like, and pay by UPI. The floor sees the whole room at a glance.

House rules
Every Irani café has a board of rules by the till. Ours is shorter than most.
Rules of the house
- No waiting for the waiter. The card on your table is the waiter. Scan it, order, and the kitchen has it in seconds.
- No app. No account. It opens in the browser you already have. Nothing to install, nothing to sign up for.
- No arguing over the bill.Every phone at the table adds to the same bill, with the name of whoever ordered the extra chai.
- No rush. The table is yours till the last sip. Play the quiz against the whole café while the custard comes.
- One glass of chai, no refills. Some rules are a hundred years old. We kept that one.
While the food comes
Ten questions on chai, buns and the cafés of Bombay. Play alone, against your own table, or join the house league and see your table on the board for the month.
